Samsung and Google Android – A Journey of Success

Some 900 million smartphones and tablets running Google Inc's Android software happen to be activated since the platform's inception this year, executives said at the company's annual developers' conference on Wednesday.

Google said revenue from Android, the program used by Samsung and other mobile phone makers that competes with Apple Inc, can also be gaining momentum. Google executives said revenue per user for Android applications developers has become 2-1/2 times its year-earlier level.

Android becoming an open system is often liked by developers and users alike. While there has been many security concerns and issues within the platform, it still continues to stay strong and become a major driving factor for Google.
